Frequently asked questions
- What does this calculator include?
- It includes Booksy subscription costs (£40/month + £5 per extra team member), Boost marketplace new client fees (30%, min £5), card processing fees, and optional SMS overage costs.
- Can I calculate only the Boost fee?
- Yes. Use the Boost fee mode for a focused view of new client acquisition costs only.
- How is card processing calculated?
- Card processing is estimated from your service price, card payment percentage, and selected payment type: mobile (1.29% + 20p) or Tap to Pay (0.99% + 20p). VAT applies on top.
- What about SMS costs?
- Booksy includes 500 free marketing SMS per month. Appointment confirmations and reminders are always free. Extra marketing texts cost 5p each.
- Does VAT apply to all fees?
- Yes. Use the Include VAT toggle to view ex-VAT, VAT amount, and total for each fee bucket.
